We need to bring more business to Orangeburg. What use to be a mall is now a shopping center. We need to beautify the community by cleaning up the neighborhood and the crime rate

The first that you can do to change the perception of Orangeburg is to change your mentality. Example if you look for negative things you can always find it. because it always there. If you focus on positive you can find it too. Here is my example a brand new car, if you really don't want to buy that car you will find something negative with the car, to paint a negative perception in your mind. On the other hand, just think about this, there three colleges in Orangeburg ,2 of them over 100 years old. Over the last 100 years all the student that are being productive all over the world. Have their roots planted in Orangeburg. That's just counting the ones that went to the colleges. The ones making it without college, being productive. The ones in the military(My brother's platoon is the one who pulled Sadaam out of that hole) right out of Orangeburg. all the sports figures. I hope you all get the message. All you have to do is look for the positive and focus on that and you will change your perception on My (our) home town of Orangeburg South Carolina. peace out

I know where you're coming from Dexter. When I'm visiting Orangeburg, no one knows me either. Sometimes that's a good thing. However, there is a disconnect. I'll admit that sometimes its my fault. I don't visit old friends like I should. I'm always on a time table. I may just visit and try to hang out for a minute. I gotta start somewhere. If I'm not a part of the solution then I'm part of the problem.
