I KNOW THE LORD HAS BROUGHT ME A VERY LONG WAY. HE HAS KEPT ME SAFE MANY NIGHTS. NOW THAT IM ALL GROWN UP, I LOOK BACK ON MY LIFE AND I COULD'VE BEEN DEAD IF IT WASN'T FOR THE BLOOD OF JESUS. OH HOW I LOVE THAT MAN. I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO GET TO KNOW THE LORD, IT'S A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.

You may have gone to bed last night weary
and wondering how, when and why?

But thank God you woke up this morning and
placed your feet on the floor. And when you did,
I'm sure the enemy said... "DARN, she (he) is up again!"

That's right. You are up again.
You may still be discouraged, but you are not defeated!

You are up again. Your head is up!
Your gratitude is up! Your faith is up!
You are standing up on your faith.
You are cheering up and looking up.
You are speaking up and thinking up.
You are hooking up with the right people.
You are growing up and maturing in your self-esteem, self-worth and self-control.
You are up and ready to make it through and up out
of your temporary circumstances.

To get better sleep, reduce the news watching and
distance yourself from the negative people.
Prayer is better than prozac.
There is no cost... just a lot of reward.
Make sure you pray, and pray believing God will answer.
May today be all you need it to be.
May the peace of God and the freshness of the Holy Spirit
rest and abide in your thoughts, rule in your dreams tonight,
and conquer all your fears.
May God manifest Himself today in ways you have never experienced.
May your joys be fulfilled, your dreams be closer, and
your prayers be answered. I pray that faith enters a new height
for you; I pray that your territory is enlarged.
I pray for peace, healing, health, happiness, prosperity, joy,
true and undying love for God..

Someone once said, "Aging puts wrinkles on the body.
Quitting puts wrinkles on the soul."

May God bless you mentally, physically, spiritually and financially for 2009.

Somebody Needs What You Can Give
Pastor Paula White
Numbers are significant to God.

The number "9" signifies "gifts," and "fruit." 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 states that we are given nine different ways in which the Holy Spirit shows Himself in our lives. And as with the "gifts of the Spirit" described in Galatians 5:22, these are inner qualities that bless those around us when we share them.

For those of us who love God and truly want to see His presence manifested in our lives, I believe that in 2009 it will be especially important to reach out to those around us with the gifts we are given.

How we share our blessings, gifts, and talents with others is how we show God's love and allow our lives to be a light to the world around us.

Love is a verb - an action word. We can love those around us by our simple actions of giving. Each of us has something to give our world. And somebody out there needs what you can give!

Giving is not about a financial thing -- although that is one way to give. Sharing with others stems from our inner being; it is giving of ourselves, our talents and our abilities. Today one of the most valuable gifts we can give someone may be our time.

Any time is a good time to give, however, during seasons of struggle, hardship, or transition -- which many of us are experiencing now -- I think it is especially important. It is easy to become self-absorbed, and feel we have nothing to give.

But I assure you, you have something somebody needs. It may be a warm smile, or a friendly touch! I have found through my own experiences that when I'm going through difficult times, it helps to make a deliberate and conscious choice to give of myself to others.

While going through a series of very painful experiences, I visited a nearby nursing home and devoted a portion of every week to five elderly people who had nobody else visiting them. My gifts to them were simple:

I listened to stories of their childhood adventures.
I held their hands and told them stories of my own.
I joked with them.
Sometimes I brought them soft cookies they could "gum" on -- or little bouquets of flowers they could smell, even if they couldn't see them.

By sharing simple acts of kindness with these precious seniors, not only was God's love manifested, but it brought me incredible blessings of joy and happiness and allowed me to focus on the positive side of my personal life. When we give to others it is impossible not to be blessed.

In 2009, a year that I call "The Year of the Spirit," I encourage you to take time to hear the small still voice within.

Be sensitive to God's Spirit in every area of your life. Find simple ways of sharing the gifts He has given you with the people around you. You will, in turn, find yourself filled with joy and contentment, as you become His hand extended to a hurting world.

Remember, your life is a gift from God - what you do with your life is your gift to Him.

Speak to Your Mountains

"And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith (a firm relying trust) and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done" (Matthew 21:21, AMP).

We've all had seasons when the challenges of life feel overwhelming. During those times, it's easy to be tempted to talk about how bad things are. Maybe you received a bad medical report, or maybe you're facing a financial obstacle. But the more you talk about something, the bigger it becomes in your mind. Instead, you've got to dig your heels in and say, "No, I am not going to give life to that defeat. I am not going to speak sickness over myself. I'm not going to speak lack. I'm not going to speak fear. I'm choosing a different report. I believe the report of the Lord which says I am blessed. I am favored. I am prosperous. I am healthy. I am whole. I'm a victor, not a victim."

Remember, even if you don't see how things could ever work out, God does. You've got to speak to those mountains in your life and declare favor over those situations. Instead of talking to God about how big your problems are, talk to your problems about how big your God is! As you speak to your mountains, they will be moved, and you will move forward into the victory God has prepared for you!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word which is life to my spirit. I receive Your strength today and choose to speak to the mountains, so I can move forward in the victory You have in store for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

"SEARCH ME, O GOD"
PSALM 140:23, 24

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 140:23, 24)

Sometimes it seems easier to see the faults in the lives of others. The reason it seems this way is our lack of self-examination. Many times whenever we cast judgment on those around us, we have our own inner struggles that we overlook or fail to deal with. That is why the psalmist implores God to search his heart. This is a vital step in our strive to live righteously. We must go before the Lord baring our souls unto him. We can't cleanse ourselves of what's imperfect and wicked. Only the blood of Jesus can cleanse us from all of our faults. And having been cleansed, it is our responsibility to walk in the righteousness that he imparts unto us. Search us, O God, and lead us in the way everlasting.

Prayer: Father, as we go through this day, help us to be mindful of our shortcomings that we may commit ourselves unto your care that we may affect change in our world. In Jesus' name, amen.

Have a blessed and prosperous day!

"WAIT FOR IT"
HEBREWS 10:36

36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. (Hebrews 10:36)

One of the biggest reasons so many of us have hardships, financial problems, relationship problems, and so many other difficult times in our lives is our lack of patience. The person who feels they have to have things right away instead of waiting patiently for them, soon finds themselves in a financial bind. Bills aren't paid, and very soon, that person begins to have other problems related to their lack of patience. Their health begins to suffer from the stress of bill collectors constantly calling. Their relationships become strained because of their indebtedness. All of these issues arise because of a lack of patience.

For each of us, God desires that we do well and prosper. However, to get to that place of prosperity and peace we must have patience. God has a great reward in store for us if we remain patient and steadfast in our pursuits. We need to let patience work its perfect work in our lives. Our peace and stability depend heavily upon our waiting for what we desire.

Prayer: Father, as we seek to fulfill the plan and purpose you have for our lives, teach us to wait patiently for those things that we desire. In Jesus' name, amen.

THREE TREES

Once there were three trees on a hill in the woods. They were discussing their hopes and dreams when the first tree said,'Someday I hope to be a treasure chest. I could be filled with gold, silver and precious gems. I could be decorated with intricate carving and everyone would see the beauty.' Then the second tree said, 'Someday I will be a mighty ship. I will take kings and queens across the waters and sail to the corners of the world. Everyone will feel safe in me because of the strength of my
hull.' Finally the third tree said, 'I want to grow to be the tallest and straightest tree in the forest. People will see me on top of the hill and look up to my branches, and think of the heavens and God and how close to them I am reaching. I will be the greatest tree of all time and people will always remember me.'

After a few years of praying that their dreams would come true, a group of woodsmen came upon the trees. When one came to the first tree he said, 'This looks like a strong tree, I think I should be able to sell the wood to a carpenter, 'and he began cutting it down. The tree was happy, because he knew
that the carpenter would make him into a treasure chest. At the second tree the woodsman said, 'This looks like a strong tree. I should be able to sell it to the shipyard.' The second tree was happy because he knew he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship. When the woodsmen came upon the third tree, the tree was frightened because he knew that if they cut him down his dreams would not come true. One of the Woodsmen said, 'I don't need anything special from my tree, I'll take this one,' and he cut it down.

When the first tree arrived at the carpenters, he was made into a feed box for animals. He was then placed in a barn and filled with hay. This was not at all what he had prayed for.The second tree was cut and made into a small fishing boat. His dreams of being a mighty ship and carrying kings had come to an end.The third tree was cut into large pieces, and left alone in the dark. The years went by, and the trees forgot about their dreams.

Then one day, a man and woman came to the barn. She gave birth and they placed the baby in the hay in the feed box that was made from the first tree. The man wished that he could have made a crib for the baby, but this manger would have to do. The tree could feel the importance of this event and knew that it had held the greatest treasure of all time.

Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made from the second tree. One of them was tired and went to sleep. While they were out on the water, a great storm arose and the tree didn't think it was strong enough to keep the men safe. The men woke the sleeping man, and He stood and said 'Peace' and the Storm stopped.
At this time, the tree knew that it had carried the King of Kings in its boat.

Finally, someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through the streets as the people mocked the man who was carrying it. When they came to a stop, the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to die at the top of a hill. When Sunday came, the tree came to realize that it was strong enough to stand at the top of the hill and be as close to God as was possible, because
Jesus had been crucified on it.

The moral of this story is that when things don't seem to be going your way, always know that God has a plan for you. If you place your trust in Him, God will give you great gifts. Each of the trees got what they wanted, just not in the way they had imagined. We don't always know what God's plans are for us. We just know that His ways are not our ways, but His ways are always best.

GET YOUR PRAISE ON"
PSALM 33:1

1 Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. (Psalm 33:1)

When things are going right in our lives, praise is one of those things that seems to flow freely from us. However, whenever we face difficult times in our lives, praise seems to dry up like a raisin in the sun. But let us think for a moment: you and I were created for God's purposes. One of those purposes is praise. At the very moment we were created, God was filled with praise for us, calling us and everything else, "very good." In those moments when the pressures of life make us feel less than our best, that's when we need to draw upon who we are in the Lord. When we praise God in those moments when things seem at their worst, God begins to move in our lives, making what seemed like a mountain into a mole hill. Therefore, when we need to make things change in our lives, we need to get our praise on. Prayer and praise changes things.

Prayer: Father, as we go through the many pressures and challenges of this life, we ask for the grace we need to bring forth the praise you have placed within our hearts. Direct our steps and lead us to the place of rest in you. In Jesus' name, amen.
